Come and visit us at stand A12 to discover Light & Shadows’ and LTU’s solutions and latest projects in 3D recognition and immersive technologies (augmented reality, virtual reality…).
Among other things, we will present our collaborative project between L&S and LTU, LinkMe: This cloud-based augmented reality solution developed by LTU offers a whole new AR experience by entertaining and training users on AR and Web content through a mobile scan.
This application is the outcome of the synergy between our respective expertises – LTU in 3D recognition, and L&S in augmented reality – which can be used for various applications such as edition, training, education, retail or multimedia.
Our teams and experts as well as those of LTU will be delighted to discuss your projects with you, and will organize demonstrations in order to test certain 3D solutions on site.

Hololens: when yesterday's science fiction becomes today's reality
Over the past few years, the development of technology has led to an increasing range of interfaces and devices that we know and use daily. This evolution is so significant that technology has gone beyond the simple computer screens that we know. Indeed, it has become accessible at our fingertips, and now in front of our eyes.
Blending the real and virtual worlds
Mixed reality is the technology where the environment and elements of the real and virtual world merge and interact with each other, pushing farther the possibilities of interaction between these two worlds.
Far from being a hype, its very existence heralds the dawn of a new technological revolution. Indeed, this immersive technology opens the doors to new uses, to different user profiles. This is how it becomes a technology with a strong potential of democratization.
Currently, access to mixed reality is possible through the use of the device conceptualized by Microsoft: the Hololens glasses (I and II). If this technology is still in its experimental and exploration phase, it could well be further democratized and disrupt the current ecosystems.
The HoloLens is a pair of standalone (wireless) mixed reality glasses developed by Microsoft. An innovation architect for Microsoft France even specifies that “Hololens is a standalone holographic laptop, which runs on Windows 10”. By the time this article is written, there are two versions of these glasses, the latest being more powerful and lighter than its predecessor.
